Mbappé has now increased his goal tally with PSG to 22 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions this season, additionally providing two key assists to his teammates.
Participating in the French Super Cup for the 17th time, after winning the local league title last season, PSG has now cemented their record as the most successful team in the competition, extending their lead with four titles ahead of their closest rivals, Olympique Lyon.
In contrast, Toulouse continues to be dogged by misfortune in the tournament, having failed to secure the title during their inaugural Super Cup appearance since 1957, despite securing the French Cup last season with a stunning 5-1 victory over Nantes in the final.
It's noteworthy that this encounter marks the second time Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse have met this season, having previously drawn 1-1 during the second round of the French league in August.
