Israeli forces continue their bombardment of targets in Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians in raids early Monday morning. Meanwhile, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed their targeting of Ashdod city with a barrage of rockets.

The Al Jazeera correspondent reported the martyrdom of 33 Palestinians and the injury of dozens due to Israeli bombing of homes in Gaza City at dawn today.

The Ministry of Health confirmed the rise in the number of martyrs since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza to about 24,000, with more than two-thirds being women and children.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported hearing a huge explosion in the Johr Al-Dik area south of Gaza City, and observed massive explosions and clashes with heavy machine guns in Al-Bureij refugee camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip.

The correspondent also confirmed the ongoing disruption of communication and internet services in the besieged sector for the fourth consecutive day.

On another note, the Al-Qassam Brigades broadcasted a video recording which they said shows the shelling of Ashdod city on the outskirts of Tel Aviv with a batch of rockets. They stated that the bombardment was a “response to the Zionist massacres” against civilians in Gaza.

The brigades also released scenes of confrontations in Al-Bureij refugee camp in the middle of the sector, showing close-range targeting and engagement of their fighters with Israeli military vehicles and soldiers.

The Israeli military announced the killing of a reserve engineering corps officer in the ongoing battles south of the sector and reported that 12 officers and soldiers were injured in battles over the past 24 hours.

This brings the number of Israeli military fatalities to 522, including 194 since the start of the ground attack on the Gaza Strip on October 26th.

In contrast, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Haggari stated that the army would not withdraw from Khan Younis or any other area in the Strip and that its operations in the region are time-consuming, being adapted to the dangers in the field and to the situation with the prisoners.

The occupying army claimed to have thwarted an attempt by resistance elements to transfer combat means via a truck in Khan Younis, south of the Strip, and announced attacking two gunmen with a drone during the thwarting of the effort.

The army added that it seized rifles, pistols, hand grenades, “RPG” shells, and diving equipment belonging to a naval force of the resistance. Over the past 24 hours, it also destroyed two warehouses for combat means and attacked military buildings belonging to Hamas.
