The Hezbollah group announced the deaths of 5 of its members in southern Lebanon and reported the execution of 7 operations against Israeli sites near the southern border and in the occupied Shebaa Farms.
The Lebanese group stated that it targeted an Israeli soldiers’ gathering in Birak Risha with volcanic rockets, as well as targeted Zara’it and Branit barracks with “Falaq-1” missiles and aimed at buildings in the settlements of Yaroun and Avivim. It also struck radar sites and Zibdeen in the occupied Shebaa Farms.
Al Jazeera correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on several towns in southern Lebanon, including Khiam, Tallouseh, Blida, Maroun Al-Ras, and Jabal Al-Butah. Meanwhile, the Al-Quds Brigades announced the martyrdom of two of its fighters in southern Lebanon.
The Al-Quds Brigades stated in a statement on Monday evening, “We mourn the martyrs, the mujahideen Muhammad Musa Fares (Abu Jihad) and Saleman Shahada Saleman (Abu Talib), who were martyred on the borders of occupied Palestine in southern Lebanon as part of the battle of the Aqsa Hurricane.”
A Hezbollah official survived a targeted Israeli drone attack on a car near the Bint Jbeil Governmental Hospital in the Nabatieh Governorate, southern Lebanon, according to Al Jazeera correspondent. Others were injured in the attack.
A Lebanese security source mentioned that the car’s driver survived the attack and was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, adding that the targeted person is a local Hezbollah official.
The French news agency quoted a Lebanese security source as saying that an Israeli airstrike targeted a local Hezbollah official in the town of Maroun Al-Ras, causing him “serious and critical injuries, after which he was transferred to the hospital for treatment,” according to the source.
Yesterday, Hezbollah announced the deaths of two of its members in clashes with the Israeli occupation army in southern Lebanon, with the death toll of its members rising to 190 since October 8, 2023.
On the other hand, the Al Jazeera office director in Lebanon reported that the Israeli occupation conducted a series of airstrikes yesterday in all sectors of southern Lebanon.
The Civil Defense in southern Lebanon reported the deaths of 4 individuals and injuries of others in two Israeli airstrikes on houses in the towns of Tyre Harfah and Maroun Al-Ras.
Last Saturday, Israel targeted a car in the town of Jdaidet, about 40 kilometers from the Lebanese border, in the second strike outside the southern border region since the escalation began amidst the war in Gaza.
Israeli sources stated that the strike targeted the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Basal Saleh but he survived. The strike resulted in the deaths of two individuals, one of whom was a civilian, while Hezbollah mourned one of its members from the town.
Against the backdrop of the destructive aggression on Gaza, the Lebanese-Israeli borders have been witnessing exchanges of gunfire and shelling between the occupation army on one side, and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the other, resulting in the killing and injuring of several individuals and Lebanese civilians since October 8, 2023.
