The Israeli Channel 12 reported on Monday that 540 Israeli soldiers have been mistakenly injured since the beginning of the ground battles in Gaza on October 27, 2023.
The channel added that this information is based on data from the Israeli army, without providing further details.
Israeli army data indicated that since the beginning of the war, 2820 soldiers have been injured, with 1300 of them injured since the start of the ground operation and 540 in operational incidents, according to the channel.
Among the total number of casualties, 429 are in critical condition, 731 are in moderate condition, and 1660 are in light condition.
The latest statistics, published over a month ago, show that 38 soldiers have been killed in these incidents since the beginning of the ground battles.
According to Israeli army data, 562 soldiers have been killed since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, including 225 since the beginning of the ground battles on October 27, 2023.
A spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army told NBC last month that the rate of soldiers being killed by friendly fire is “terrible,” and added that lessons are being learned to minimize such horrific incidents.
The Israeli army radio stated that “the number of soldiers killed by friendly fire in the Gaza battles represents a fifth of the number of soldiers killed during the ground operation.”
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in 27,365 martyrs and 66,630 injuries, most of whom are children and women, according to Palestinian authorities.
