The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the Ministry of Defense stated that the Medical Rehabilitation Department has treated more than 5,500 wounded since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7th last year.
The Israel Army Radio mentioned that the Rehabilitation Administration at the Ministry of Defense is preparing to receive 20,000 wounded this current year compared to 5,500 casualties received last year since the start of the war.
In a related context, Haaretz stated that soldiers from the “Givati” Brigade refused to comply with orders and carry out military tasks inside Gaza City due to the deterioration of their mental and physical conditions.
Earlier, the Israeli government broadcast authority mentioned that about 3,000 regular and reserve soldiers were examined by mental health officers since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7th, 2023.
Last month, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that 3,000 war casualties, inflicted by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip, were classified as “permanently disabled in the military.”
The Israeli Ministry of Defense estimates that the number of soldiers disabled in the ongoing war in Gaza will reach 12,500.
Concealing Losses
Since the beginning of its destructive war on Gaza, the Israeli occupation army has admitted to the killing of 569 of its members, in addition to 2,864 injuries, including 344 soldiers receiving treatment in hospitals, with 30 of them in critical condition.
It is worth noting that Israel conceals its actual losses in the ongoing battles in Gaza, amidst leaks from Israeli hospitals indicating that they receive significantly larger numbers of casualties than officially announced.
Israeli website “Walla” revealed that the Israeli army does not disclose all casualty data to its audience, fearing that it may lead to a decrease in morale.
Days ago, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced the destruction of more than 1,108 Israeli military vehicles since the beginning of the current war on the Gaza Strip.
The Qassam Brigades stated in a press release that the destroyed Israeli vehicles included 962 tanks, 55 armored vehicles, 74 bulldozers, 3 excavators, and 14 military vehicles, resulting in the killing and injury of a large number of occupation officers, soldiers, and mercenaries.
