The Turkish authorities arrested 7 individuals on Friday over suspicions of selling information to the Israeli intelligence agency, “Mossad,” in Istanbul and Izmir.
According to Turkish security sources, the intelligence agency had learned that Mossad was tracking its targets in the country through private investigators. The investigations revealed that “Mossad” engaged in activities such as gathering personal information, surveillance, documentation through photos and videos, monitoring, and deploying tracking devices against its targets through affiliated private investigators.
The Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that 9 individuals are suspected of selling information they obtained to Mossad through private investigators.
Based on these investigations, the Istanbul Security Directorate’s intelligence and counter-terrorism units carried out a simultaneous security operation in Istanbul and Izmir, leading to the arrest of 7 suspects. It was also disclosed that the other two individuals had previously been detained in connection with the same investigations.
In December 2022, the Turkish intelligence agency carried out an operation against private investigators affiliated with Mossad, resulting in the arrest of 68 individuals.
