Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has pledged not to transfer any funds to what he referred to as Nazis in Ramallah, emphasizing that the occupying power will take necessary actions to protect West Bank settlements from attacks similar to those experienced in the Gaza periphery.
In a recent declaration, the minister discussed his visit to the Psagot settlement and his interactions with occupation soldiers stationed mere tens of meters away from Ramallah, where the Palestinian Authority headquarters are located.
Smotrich stated on the X platform, "If someone thinks that we will transfer even one shekel to the Nazis in Ramallah so they can send it to the Nazis in Gaza, they don’t know where they live. There will be no Israeli trickery."
The minister's remarks came two days after an announcement regarding an agreement between the Palestinian Authority and Israel about transferring funds that Israel owes to the Palestinians, which was brokered by the United States.
He added, "Every evening there are marches here by Hamas supporters who applaud the terrible massacre committed by Hamas and ISIS in Gaza. Psagot settlement will not become Paris, and Kfar Saba will not become Gaza."
He also noted that Ramallah is only a 10-minute drive from Jerusalem, harboring the same hostility towards the State of Israel and Jews as Gaza does, and that the same need for security exists. "There is much we must do, and as a government, we will do it. We understand very well what is going on here and we listen day and night to the mosques here."
This stance indicates a firm Israeli resolve in the financial engagements with the Palestinian territories, linking security concerns with financial allocations.
