On the 86th day of Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, Israeli bombardment continues, particularly targeting Khan Younis. The Government Media Office has announced a new casualty toll of martyrs and injured. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has announced the disbanding of brigades and the injury of several soldiers amidst ongoing Palestinian resistance targeting occupation forces and machinery.
Israeli Army Radio reported that the army decided to discharge five combat brigates operating in the Gaza Strip, including reserve brigates 551 and 14, in addition to three training brigades.
The "Times of Israel" newspaper stated that the five disbanded brigades will return to help revitalize the Israeli economy.
The Israeli website "Walla" mentioned that further discharges of forces are expected next week according to the developments of the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military said the combat unit of the Paratroopers Brigade moved from the north of the Gaza Strip and joined the forces in the area around Khan Younis.
On the other hand, the newspaper Haaretz reported that 13 Israeli soldiers were wounded in the past 24 hours, while Al Jazeera correspondent reported that a number of wounded Israeli soldiers were transported from the Gaza Strip to Israeli hospitals by military ambulances.
Maariv newspaper quoted the director of Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, stating that the hospital has treated more than 3,500 wounded since October 7, a number unprecedented before.
The Walla website also mentioned that senior reserve officers demanded the Chief of Staff to immediately investigate the events of October 7.
Maariv newspaper also conveyed Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen's statement that the government bears the responsibility for the October 7 attack and that an inquiry committee should be formed to hold those responsible accountable.
Cohen added that discussing settlement in the Gaza Strip "is premature" and that restoring security "comes first."
He went on to say, "There will be no Hamas, we will return the captives, we will have security control over Gaza, and we will not allow the Palestinian Authority to go unchecked."
Displacement of Gaza Residents
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich told the Army Radio that residents in Gaza should be encouraged to emigrate, as they live in hardship and poverty. He added that Israelis wish to return to Gaza as it is a beautiful place and would turn the desert into a thriving area.
In today's events, the Israeli Prime Minister's office approved the rotation between Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and Energy Minister Yisrael Katz.
Resistance Operations
The military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Saraya al-Quds, announced that its fighters managed to detonate a tunnel with Israeli soldiers in it in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, resulting in one dead and one wounded. Additionally, Saraya al-Quds claimed to snipe an Israeli soldier in al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City.
The Israeli army announced today, Sunday, the death of an officer and a soldier in battles in the north and center of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, declared their targeting of an Israeli "D9" bulldozer with a "Yasin 105" shell north of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Strip.
Moreover, the Al-Qassam Brigades said their members targeted Israeli special forces east of al-Tuffah with explosives and shells and engaged them with machine guns.
The brigades also announced that, along with "Al-Mujahideen Brigades," they targeted an Israeli Apache helicopter with a "SAM 7" missile in the area south of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza.
Ziyad al-Nakhala, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, stated that "there will be no prisoner exchange agreements between us and the enemy unless the aggression stops and their forces are fully withdrawn from the Strip."
Victim Toll
The Government Media Office in Gaza reported registering 1,825 Israeli massacres, and 28,822 martyrs and missing persons, including 9,100 children during the 86 days of Israeli aggression on the enclave.
The office added in a statement that the number of injured has risen to 56,451, while the number of displaced persons reached 1.8 million.
Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that occupation warplanes launched a series of raids on the Al-Maghazi camp in central Gaza, with a civil defense medic and his colleague being injured in an Israeli strike on the Al-Nuseirat camp in the center of the Strip.
The correspondent added that 10 people were injured in Israeli artillery shelling that targeted a school sheltering displaced people in Khan Younis refugee camp in the south of the Strip.
35 Palestinians were martyred in ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Khan Younis since dawn on Sunday.
Israeli artillery shelled a school in Deir al-Balah, in the center of Gaza, resulting in one martyr and several wounded.
Al Jazeera's correspondent also reported the martyrdom of two girls in Israeli shelling around the European hospital southeast of Khan Younis, and 48 Palestinians in Israeli shelling on the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
20 Palestinians were martyred in Israeli shelling on Al-Aqsa University in Gaza.
In another incident, the former Minister of Waqf and the former preacher of Al-Aqsa, Sheikh Yusuf Salameh, was martyred in Israeli shelling in central Gaza Strip.
A medical source told Al Jazeera that 64 martyrs and 186 wounded fell in Israeli shelling on houses in the central area of the Strip during the past 24 hours.
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics stated that the number of martyrs this year is the highest in Palestine since the Nakba of 1948.
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation called for the International Court of Justice to swiftly respond to the lawsuit submitted by South Africa to the International Court of Justice to end the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the Palestinian territories.
West Bank Developments
Al Jazeera's correspondent reported clashes between Palestinian resistance fighters and occupying forces in Nour Shams camp east of Tulkarm in the West Bank.
The correspondent also reported injuries resulting from the bombing by an Israeli drone in the camp, with a second drone bombing a site around the school district within the camp, resulting in casualties.
The Palestinian Red Crescent stated that two young men were injured by shrapnel from an Israeli drone bombing inside the camp, with one suffering serious injuries.
The correspondent added that clashes between Palestinian fighters and Israeli forces resumed at the entrance to Tulkarm camp in the West Bank as Israeli forces withdrew from the Nour Shams camp.
Previously, the reporter conveyed that the occupation was besieging Nour Shams camp in Tulkarm, amid constant clashes and explosions.
Al Jazeera's correspondent reported the invasion of Al-Fawwar camp south of Hebron in the West Bank by occupying forces, with sniper teams occupying rooftops overlooking the camp.
The occupation forces launched a siege on Thabet Thabet Government Hospital and Zakat Hospital in Tulkarm after storming the city from its western axis.
Lebanon Front
Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that an Israeli drone bombed a house on the outskirts of the town of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, and another Israeli drone bombed the vicinity of the town of Maroun al-Ras in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army reported its air force attacking infrastructure and military sites of Hezbollah in the village of Ramiya in southern Lebanon.
Channel 12 Israel reported two anti-tank missiles fired from southern Lebanon at an Israeli military site in Upper Galilee.
Hezbollah stated its operatives targeted the Hanita Israeli site with the appropriate weaponry and achieved a direct hit.
Hezbollah had previously announced the death of one of its members in the south during clashes with Israeli forces, bringing its death toll to 134 since October 8.
