The World Health Organization (WHO) has accused Israel of launching "unreasonable" attacks on a hospital in the besieged Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent's emergency service, at least five civilians, including a five-day-old infant, were martyred in the attacks, as stated by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on the "X" electronic platform late Tuesday night.

A total of 14,000 people were transferred to Al-Amal Hospital. Since then, many have left.

Ghebreyesus added that "the health system in Gaza is already in a deplorable state, with health and relief workers continually frustrated in their efforts to save lives due to hostilities."

In his tweet, he stated, "I join the international calls for an immediate ceasefire, including urgent measures to ensure the rapid and unimpeded flow of food, medical supplies, water, and other essential goods to millions of civilians forced to live in indescribable conditions of hunger, disease spread, and lack of hygiene and sanitation."

The people in the Gaza Strip continue to receive only a fraction of the aid supplies they could have obtained before the war. The director of the WHO wrote that every possible effort must be made to protect health facilities, medical teams, and patients.
