LG Electronics, the South Korean company, officially unveiled its high-end television lineup for the year 2024, featuring the QNED and QNED Mini LED models. The new devices combine Quantum Dot and NanoCell technologies with a Mini LED backlight. Together, these components work to produce highly accurate colors with deeper shades of black and a high-quality image display that creates hyper-realistic scenes, as mentioned in the company's press release.

The new LG TV devices come in various sizes ranging from 43 to 98 inches. In pursuit of high contrast, the QNED Mini LED TVs utilize an ultra-precise dimming technology to enhance color gradations and precise control over the backlight. Similarly, QNED versions rely on a comparable technology to adjust contrast with an exceptional brightness level.

LG’s new televisions are powered by the "Alpha 8 AI" processor, which brings significant improvements in AI mechanisms, processing speed, and graphical performance.

LG offers an array of AI-based features, including the AI Picture Pro, which uses deep learning algorithms to recognize faces, objects, and backgrounds within a scene for enhanced display. Another notable feature is the AI Sound Pro, which produces virtual surround sound from the TV’s built-in speakers.

QNED and QNED Mini LED TVs are equipped with the latest version of the webOS operating system. This update offers many enhancements to the user interface in addition to support for features like AirPlay and Chromecast. LG has promised to provide system updates for the new TVs for up to five years, marking a first in the industry.
