Six Palestinians Including Four Siblings Killed in Israeli Drone Strike in Jenin

Six young Palestinians, including four siblings, were martyred in a strike by an Israeli drone at the entrance to the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank, as reported by Al Jazeera's correspondent.

Palestinian medical sources said that several Palestinians were martyred and others were injured in the drone strike in Jenin.

Earlier, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported hearing explosions in the center of the city of Jenin, coinciding with clashes between resistance fighters and occupation forces.

Occupation forces had stormed the city of Jenin, and armed clashes immediately erupted between them and Palestinian resistance fighters in various parts of the city.

The Palestinian resistance fighters confronted the Israeli forces that stormed Jenin from the northern and southern entrances, while an Apache helicopter belonging to the occupation forces bombarded the area of the clashes.

Armed clashes erupted between resistance fighters and occupation soldiers in more than one part of the city, and Israeli military vehicles headed towards the Jabriyat neighborhood overlooking Jenin camp.

Al Jazeera's correspondent Jivara Al Budeiri reported that the armed clashes stopped after Palestinian resistance fighters detonated explosive devices targeting the occupation's vehicles in the Jabriyat neighborhood, resulting in several vehicles being damaged.

Al Jazeera's correspondent also noted that the occupation forces used an Apache helicopter to bombard the area.

Moreover, occupation forces stormed the town of Yabad west of Jenin, and Palestinian resistance fighters fired at infantry forces of the occupation army and threw homemade explosives at several military vehicles.

The occupation soldiers responded by firing randomly towards a number of citizens.

Incursions in Tulkarm

In Tulkarm Governorate, three Palestinians were injured during an incursion by occupation forces into the town of Zita, north of the governorate. The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that four Palestinians were shot by Israeli occupation forces, with one injury described as serious, during confrontations in the towns of Bal'a and Anabta to the east of the governorate.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces stormed neighborhoods and spread out to arrest those they consider wanted, stationed in the center of the town of Bal'a, where clashes erupted with Palestinians during the incursion. The occupation forces destroyed and set fire to a commercial store and launched sound grenades at it before withdrawing.

Clashes in Nablus

Clashes also broke out between Palestinian youths and occupation forces in the village of Aqraba, southeast of Nablus.

Israeli occupation forces had previously raided the Old City and its surroundings in Nablus, and violent clashes ensued between the forces and Palestinian resistance fighters who tried to confront the incursion.

The occupation forces withdrew from the city after destroying a print shop belonging to a university professor who has been detained for two months in occupation jails. Less than half an hour after their withdrawal, they re-entered the city and headed towards the Old City.

Raids in Hebron

In the Hebron Governorate, occupation forces stormed the city of Dura, the Talat al-Samud area in Masafer Yatta, and the town of Bani Naim to the east of Hebron, initiating house raids and searches.

Occupation forces opened fire toward an ambulance belonging to the Popular Committee for the Services of the Arroub Camp north of Hebron.

In related events, a video showed an armed settler searching and detaining a Palestinian citizen in the Jaber neighborhood (center of Hebron city) in front of Israeli occupation soldiers in the area.

Qalqilya and Jerusalem

Occupation forces also stormed the city of Qalqilya, north of the West Bank, and raided several neighborhoods in the city. The occupation forces arrested several young men and engaged in armed clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters, continuing to besiege several neighborhoods under the pretext of searching for wanted individuals.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that two Palestinians were shot by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Qatanna, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, during confrontations.

Local sources stated that occupation forces stormed a number of homes, destroyed their contents, and launched a widespread arrest campaign targeting young men, who were then subjected to interrogations.

Increase in the Number of Prisoners

The number of Palestinians arrested by the Israeli army in the West Bank has risen to 5,680 since October 7, according to a joint statement by the Palestinian Authority's Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner Society. This number increased after 20 were arrested from the evening of last Friday to the evening of Saturday.

According to the two institutions, occupation forces continue to carry out widespread raids and mistreatment during arrest campaigns, including severe beatings, threats against detainees and their families, and widespread destruction and damage to citizens' homes.

A year-end report by prisoners' institutions stated that the total number of prisoners as of the end of December 2023 stood at approximately 8,800, including more than 80 female prisoners.
