Liverpool clinched a 2-1 victory against their guests, Fulham, on Wednesday evening at Anfield, in the first leg of the English Football League Cup semi-final.
Liverpool ended the first half trailing the London guests, with a goal scored by Brazilian Willian in the 19th minute.
The Reds overturned the situation in the second half within less than three minutes when Curtis Jones netted the equalizer in the 68th minute.
By the 71st minute, Dutch striker Cody Gakpo scored the winning goal for Liverpool.
The teams will meet again in the second leg, which will be held next Wednesday evening at Craven Cottage, the stronghold of Fulham.
The first-leg encounter in the semifinals of the English League Cup concluded with a victory for Middlesbrough over Chelsea 1-0 on Tuesday.
Chelsea and Middlesbrough will face off once more in the second leg next Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.
