Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank, leading to the outbreak of violent armed clashes with resistance fighters. Concurrent raids were also carried out in Nablus, Ramallah, and Hebron, resulting in the arrest of the sisters of the martyr Saleh Al-Arouri, the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) who was assassinated in the Lebanese capital Beirut earlier this month.
The incursion into Jenin began at night and continued until the following morning, involving dozens of Israeli military vehicles.
Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that Israeli forces surrounded the main entrance to the Jenin camp and noted the eruption of armed clashes in the center of the city between Palestinian resistance fighters and the encroaching forces.
Journalists and Palestinian activists described the clashes as fierce. They pointed to the resistance's use of explosive devices to target occupation vehicles and posted videos showing bulldozers damaging streets.
During the raid in the town of Arraba, south of Jenin city, two Palestinian youths were wounded by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire.
Palestinian medical sources reported that one of the wounded was transported to the hospital, while the occupation forces detained the second injured individual.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces also invaded the city of Nablus and raided several homes in the northern mountain area, arresting two Palestinian youths.
The Israeli army had stormed the al-Far'a camp south of Tubas city, where clashes and explosions were heard, according to Al Jazeera's correspondent.
The occupation army claimed to have injured several Palestinian fighters during an exchange of fire, with no casualties on its side. It also announced the arrest of two wanted Palestinians during its incursion into the camp.
Dalal and Fatimah Al-Arouri, sisters of the martyred Hamas leader Saleh Al-Arouri, were arrested a short while ago after their homes in Al-Bireh city and Arraba town north of Ramallah were raided.
Arrest of Al-Arouri's Sisters
In recent developments in the West Bank, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the occupation forces arrested the sisters of the martyr Saleh Al-Arouri early this morning.
The correspondent added that the occupation forces raided the Al-Arouri family home in Arraba, north of Ramallah, arresting Dalal Al-Arouri, while Fatimah Al-Arouri was arrested during the raid in Al-Bireh city.
Al-Arouri was martyred along with others from Hamas in an Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut ten days ago.
The Israeli army also invaded the Jalazone camp north of Ramallah and patrolled its neighborhoods.
The night raids included the Al-Aroub camp and the town of Deir Samet in the Hebron governorate, in the southern West Bank.
In Deir Samet, confrontations erupted between Palestinian youths and occupying forces, which fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters. The forces set up military checkpoints in the middle of the town and seized a house, turning it into a military barracks.
Al Jazeera's correspondent mentioned that during the new incursion operations, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 15 Palestinians in various areas.
Since the Palestinian resistance launched the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation on October 7th, the Israeli army has escalated its assaults in the West Bank, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 340 Palestinians and the arrest of another 5,000.
