The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that five soldiers were transported to the Rambam Hospital following injuries sustained in an armed clash on the northern border. Additionally, Israeli forces killed four militants who infiltrated from Lebanon into the Jabal al-Rous area in Shebaa Farms at the foothills of Mount Hermon before dawn on Sunday.
The Israeli Army Radio had earlier disclosed the detection of rocket fire from southern Lebanon. In alignment with this report, Hezbollah confirmed that they had targeted Israeli artillery bases in Khirbet Ma’ar with rockets, achieving direct hits.
On the other hand, the Israeli Defense Forces clarified that a military contingent near the Gladiola military site on the western slopes of Mount Hermon had engaged with militants who had infiltrated from the Lebanese side into areas under Israeli control.
Israeli artillery bombarded the positions of the militants involved in the altercation, resulting in their fatalities.
No party in Lebanon has yet claimed responsibility for the infiltration operation.
The exchange of fire between Hezbollah, Palestinian factions in Lebanon, and Israel has become a near-daily occurrence since October 8 last year, leading to dozens of casualties and injuries on both sides of the border.
This uptick in hostilities is attributed to what is deemed as aggressive actions by Israel on the Gaza Strip, as reported by the Strip’s authorities and the United Nations, which have led to over 23,000 deaths, approximately 60,000 injuries, as well as massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
