Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has stated that Israel should reoccupy Gaza, remain in the city centers, and push for a plan for the voluntary displacement of its residents, along with the assassination of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza.

In an interview with Israeli Channel 13, Ben Gvir added that Netanyahu must choose between the path of Ben Gvir or the approach represented by War Council Minister Benny Gantz and opposition leader Yair Lapid, indicating differences with them, particularly regarding the post-war phase.

As for the West Bank, Ben Gvir said that Palestinian workers from there should not be allowed to return to work in Israel as it poses a risk to Israeli lives.

The minister, known for his extreme positions, asserted that “a political settlement will not achieve security for Israel and the events of October 7th will repeat themselves,” referencing a surprise attack by resistance factions led by Hamas on Israeli settlements around Gaza, which resulted in about 1200 Israeli fatalities and the capture of dozens.

According to the Israeli military, since October 7th, there have been 525 officers and soldiers killed in total.
