Three people have died and dozens were injured in traffic accidents in Conakry city amid Guinea national team’s celebrations following their clean-sheet victory over Gambia in the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament currently held in Ivory Coast, according to a Guinean police source.
Two cars, both speeding, collided with each other, leading to the deaths of three people during the celebrations.
The capital, Conakry, witnessed massive celebrations as its streets filled with motorbikes and fans who moved around in cars, during which many people were injured, the same source revealed.

Fans took to the streets after the match that was held in Yamoussoukro against Gambia in the second round of Group D competitions, where this win placed the Guinean team on the verge of qualifying for the second round of the continental competition.
Guinea had previously drawn with Cameroon 1-1 in their opening match, noting that they are set to face the title-holders Senegal on Tuesday in the group stage finale.
