Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to deflect responsibility for any mistakes that have occurred throughout the past period, while his political opponents, as well as some of his former allies domestically and internationally, escalate their pressures on him.

When one of the journalists asked Netanyahu whether he bore the responsibility for the failure that happened on the 7th of October, he responded by saying that he fights the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), while journalists fight him.

Despite his long experience in political maneuvering, the newspaper “Yediot Aharonot” reports that Netanyahu faces a “storm” after the State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman demanded all Israeli military and security leaders provide him with confidential information and documents. This is part of an investigation into the events of October 7th and those preceding it to determine who is accountable for the Israeli failure.

According to a report prepared by Moaz Al-Khatib for Al Jazeera, some members of the Likud party and the ruling coalition have begun attacking Netanyahu, including the extreme National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who criticized the way the war was conducted and the approval of unexamined medicines entering the Gaza Strip.

However, the most severe attack came from the War Council where the former Chief of Staff, Gadi Eisenkot, said that Netanyahu is primarily responsible for everything that happened on the 7th of October.

At the same time, Netanyahu is facing allegations from the relatives of Israeli prisoners claiming he is obstructing efforts to secure their release, as to remain seated in his position of power.

Meanwhile, the United States is growing increasingly frustrated with the Prime Minister, believing he is managing the war for his personal interests, making their words weigh even heavier on him.
