The ongoing fierce clashes between the Palestinian resistance and Israeli occupation forces, which have advanced into the northern and southern parts of Gaza, have continued since the early hours of Sunday. The resistance meanwhile has fired a barrage of rockets from northern Gaza towards the Gaza Envelope areas. In response, Israeli fighter jets have launched airstrikes on the Al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent confirmed that the Iron Dome intercepted a rocket from northern Gaza and that alarm sirens sounded in the Kisufim settlement within the Gaza Envelope.

The correspondent reported that Israeli forces targeted eastern Jabalia with heavy artillery fire, while Israeli naval warships bombarded the coasts of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza and Khan Younis to the south.

Five Palestinians were martyred in the Israeli artillery shelling east of Jabalia, the correspondent noted, mentioning that ambulances were unable to reach them.

According to Al Jazeera’s correspondent, Palestinian casualties occurred due to Israeli bombing on two houses in the Zaytoun neighborhood east of Gaza City, resulting in the martyrdom of three additional individuals targeted in a civilian car in the Yarmouk market in Gaza City.

The correspondent added that Palestinians were martyred and wounded by Israeli sniper fire in the Al-Katiba area southwest of Gaza City amid intense Israeli artillery shelling.

The reporter stated that Israeli occupation forces targeted the Al-Manara neighborhood in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, with artillery fire amidst fierce clashes with the resistance using heavy machine guns, concurrent with the Israeli bombing east of Khan Younis.

Resistance Operations

Amid continuous Israeli bombardment across Gaza, the Al-Qassam Brigades—the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)—announced it had shelled Israeli military gatherings northeast of the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central part of the Gaza Strip using heavy mortars.

Additionally, the Saraya al-Quds—the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement—claimed it targeted an Israeli army command and control center with mortars near the Al-Shuhada Mosque south of Khan Younis.

They also took control of an “Evo Max 4 T” Israeli reconnaissance drone while it was on an intelligence mission in central Gaza and bombarded Israeli soldiers and vehicles with 107 rockets and mortar shells, north and east of the Al-Bureij refugee camp.

Casualties of the Occupation

In contrast, the Israeli army today reported the injury of six officers and soldiers in Gaza battles within the last 24 hours.

Earlier today, the army announced the death of one of its soldiers and the injury of three others, including an officer, in battles in the southern part of Gaza last Friday.

Thus, since the beginning of the war on October 7, the number of Israeli military fatalities has risen to 531, with 195 killed since the ground incursion into the sector began on the 27th of the same month.

Additionally, 2,659 officers and soldiers have been injured, with 407 still receiving treatment following their injuries in the Gaza battles. Forty-eight are in serious condition, 405 have sustained severe injuries, 692 have moderate injuries, and 1,562 have minor injuries since the war began.

Israel’s Channel 12 cited Israeli military sources stating that the army had changed its combat style in Gaza, shifting to targeted attacks in its operations.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on the besieged enclave for over three months has resulted in 24,927 martyrs, 62,388 injured, and a humanitarian and health disaster, causing the displacement of approximately 1.9 million people, over 85% of the Gaza Strip’s population.
