Occupation Army Pulls Brigade from Gaza, Trims Lebanon Border Forces
The Israeli army has withdrawn one of its reserve brigades from Gaza, while deciding to reduce its forces stationed in the areas adjacent to the Lebanese border, according to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.
The occupation army’s radio announced that the fifth reserve brigade left Gaza last night and completed its mission, explaining that the withdrawal is part of the reduction of forces in the sector.
In the context of reducing forces on the combat front, the Israeli newspaper stated that the army has decided to reduce its forces stationed in the areas adjacent to the Lebanese border, and that local security teams will be responsible for responding to security incidents in these areas.
Last Sunday, the occupation army announced the withdrawal of two reserve brigades from Gaza, and the “Kan” channel, affiliated with the official Israeli broadcasting authority, reported that the army withdrew the brigades after completing their mission.
According to this channel, the first brigade, “Kiryati”, left southern Gaza last Saturday evening after thousands of its members participated in fierce battles against the Palestinian resistance in Khan Younis.
The second brigade is the Paratroopers Brigade, known as “Ra’s al-Ramah”, and consists of 5 battalions, according to “Kan” channel.
In less than a month, the occupation army has withdrawn several brigades from its forces in Gaza, including the 7107th Battalion, the 36th Division, and the 13th Battalion in the Golan Brigade.
The occupation army acknowledged today, Wednesday, the killing of an officer and two soldiers, and the injury of others in serious condition, in battles in the north and south of Gaza.
It also announced yesterday that 26 soldiers were injured during the 24 hours of the sector’s battles, confirming that the number has risen to 2797 since the beginning of the war, including 1283 who were injured since the start of the ground offensive on October 27, 2023.
