Kitty Perry, former head of the Israeli Prison Service, revealed in a statement to Israeli Channel 12 that Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, has translated two books written by former chiefs of the Israeli internal security agency, Shin Bet.
The first book, titled “The Next One Is Coming to Kill You,” is by Yaakov Perry, and the second book, “Shin Bet Between Divisions,” is by Carmi Gillon, focusing on the divisions within Israeli society. Perry stated that during a surprise inspection, a book believed to be written in Sinwar’s handwriting was found. The book, with an estimated 500 to 600 pages, was intended for translation for the Israeli prisoners.
Former Israeli Prison Service head Perry described Sinwar as “clearly a type of quiet leader with decisive power.” She also mentioned that he “reads the strategies of Shin Bet leaders” under the rule of “know your enemy.” Additionally, Perry previously advocated for the return of Israeli prisoners held by Palestinian resistance in Gaza at any cost.
In ongoing discussions on Israeli channels about the negotiations for a prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Palestinian resistance, former Israeli Intelligence agency (Mossad) chief Yossi Cohen stated that Israel must pay the price for the exchange deal, emphasizing that “it is currently difficult to define what a good and right deal is since our hand is the weaker one.” Cohen also anticipated “very difficult prices for the State of Israel” in the deal.
Regarding the negotiations, journalist Yara Shayara of Channel 11 mentioned that Israel has not convened a session of the Ministerial Committee for National Security, nor has it conveyed any messages to the Qatari and Egyptian intermediaries. This silence is intended to prompt Hamas to hesitate and provide its final response.
Furthermore, Minister of War Galit Ben-Gvir opposed any deal with Palestinians, stating, “If this event is contingent on agreeing to the establishment of a Palestinian state, that is madness in the State of Israel.”
In a separate development, journalist Moria Asraf Alberg spoke about the tension between Egypt and Israel, asserting that it has reached its peak and that “Israel is considering the possibility of moving the Rafah crossing from the tri-border area (Israel, Gaza, Egypt) to the Kerem Shalom area to avoid confronting Egypt in this matter.”
