Israeli Army Withdraws Battalion from Khan Yunis, Suffers Gaza Battle Losses

The Israeli army announced the withdrawal of Battalion 271 belonging to the Combat Engineering Unit after weeks of fighting in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. The army acknowledged the death of one of its soldiers amidst the battle. Meanwhile, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, the al-Qassam Brigades, broadcast scenes of sniping an Israeli officer west of Gaza City. Additionally, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Saraya al-Quds, announced engaging a special Israeli force resulting in casualties in Khan Yunis.

During recent times, the Israeli occupation gradually withdrew some of its forces, including the 36th Division comprising the Golan Brigade, armored, artillery, infantry units, and others. They also pulled out the fifth brigade from the northern region of the Gaza Strip, as well as the reserve fourth brigade known as Kiryati from Khan Yunis after weeks of military operations in the northern and eastern parts of the province.

Furthermore, the 55th Parachute Brigade in the reserves, which operated in the Khan Yunis area, was also withdrawn. After months of operations in the northern region of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army withdrew the 7107 Battalion, a part of the Nahal Brigade.

Yesterday, the Israeli occupation army announced the death of a soldier succumbing to injuries sustained in Gaza battles. This came a day after an officer, a deputy commander of the 601 Battalion in the Combat Engineering Corps, was killed during clashes in northern Gaza Strip. The total number of Israeli officers and soldiers killed now stands at 564, including 234 since the start of the ground operation.

In other field developments, the al-Qassam Brigades aired scenes of what they claimed was sniping an Israeli officer during battles in the university area, west of Gaza City. Moreover, the al-Qassam Brigades and Saraya al-Quds announced causing casualties and injuries in an Israeli special force comprised of 10 soldiers who clashed when holed up inside a house west of Khan Yunis.

In Gaza City, the al-Qassam Brigades reported their fighters also successfully sniped an Israeli soldier near the industrial intersection and targeted an Israeli Merkava 4 tank with a tandem shell west of the Sabra neighborhood. They further stated that they shelled Israeli forces in the battalion area west of Gaza City.

Saraya al-Quds also released images of missile strikes targeting Israeli military sites and gatherings in advancing areas in the Gaza Strip.
