Apple has announced new updates for its phone and computer operating systems to address a frustrating issue affecting users of these devices, as reported by Mac World.
According to available information, many iPhone users experienced text typing issues in several applications on their devices after downloading the recently released iOS 17.3 update. When composing messages or texts, characters appeared out of place or text overlapped, prompting Apple to release the iOS 17.3.1 update to resolve this problem.
Complaints from some iPhone users highlighted the random occurrence of this issue regardless of how text was inputted into the applications, whether manually or through voice commands. Text repetition and unexpected word overlaps were reported.
The problem wasn’t limited to iPhones as it also appeared on various Apple computers following the installation of the macOS Sonoma 14.3 update. Consequently, Apple released the macOS 14.3.1 update and the iPadOS 17.3.1 update for iPad devices to address these issues.
To download the new updates on Apple devices, users should navigate to the settings menu on their device, select “General,” then choose the “Software Update” option. Finally, they should press “Download and Install” to complete the update process.
