63 Killed, Dozens Injured in Rafah Homes, Mosques Bombing

According to Al Jazeera correspondent, at least 63 Palestinians, including a child, have been reported killed and dozens more injured in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, following a series of heavy airstrikes by the occupying forces in various areas of the city.

The correspondent stated that casualties, including children and women, were rushed to Kuwaiti Hospital due to the intense and unprecedented Israeli shelling primarily targeting the northern part of Rafah.

The correspondent added that an Israeli airstrike targeted the Rahma Mosque in Shaboura refugee camp in Rafah, resulting in injuries.

Hundreds of civilians evacuated to Kuwaiti Hospital to escape the intense Israeli bombardment.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that intensive airstrikes targeted residential homes near the Red Crescent Society headquarters in central Rafah.

Earlier, Al Jazeera correspondent reported hearing clashes, artillery shelling, and intense airstrikes in Rafah, along with shelling near the border with Egypt.

The correspondent mentioned that heavy Israeli clashes are ongoing near Kuwaiti Hospital in Rafah.

In the first statement after the Rafah bombing, the Israeli military stated that they carried out a series of attacks on strategic targets in the Shaboura area, south of the Gaza Strip, specifying that the attacks have concluded.
