Occupation Forces Raid Al-Ram Town North of Jerusalem, Injure Youth
Early Monday morning, a large force of the Israeli occupation army stormed the town of Al-Ram north of occupied Jerusalem, injuring a young man with gunfire in conjunction with a campaign of arrests accompanied by raid and search operations.
The Jerusalem Governorate, the highest Palestinian representation in the city, stated on its Facebook page that the occupation forces shot a young man and arrested several residents of the town after raiding their homes and treating them harshly.
The campaign began at dawn and was followed by the closure of all entrances to the town, which continues as of 10:00 local time.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses told Al-Jazeera that clashes erupted in various parts of the town where young men threw stones at Israeli forces, who responded with live fire and tear gas.
The Jerusalem Information Center for Human Rights in Wadi Helwa stated that an absentia trial session will be held for the young man, Mohammad Tareq Abu Sanina, a resident of the town of Abu Dis east of Jerusalem, who is hospitalized after being shot on Sunday.
The center added in a brief statement that “there is no information as of now about his health condition.”
Abu Sanina was shot on Sunday evening after being fired upon on Wadi Street in the Old City of Jerusalem, allegedly as he attempted a stabbing attack.
