By conducting numerous interviews and embarking on an extensive journey to gather information, Qatari directors Amal Al-Muftah and Rouda Al-Thani paved their way to explore the life of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. They presented the film “To the Sons of the Nation,” which delves into the Father Emir’s vision to achieve the ambitious development that has propelled Qatar to become a global cultural force.
The documentary film, produced by the Doha Film Institute, is set to have its world premiere on February 19th, showcasing Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa’s vision and his role in the country’s renaissance.
Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Doha Film Institute and Museums Qatar, described “To the Sons of the Nation” as a celebration of “the remarkable journey Qatar started under the leadership of the Father Emir.” She emphasized how the film portrays the revival of Arab culture and enhances the collective pride and sense of belonging.
Fatma Hassan Al Remaihi, CEO of the Doha Film Institute, stated that “To the Sons of the Nation” embodies their collective passion and acknowledges the significant role of Qatar’s leadership in developing the flourishing film industry in Qatar.
Al Remaihi praised the achievements of the Father Emir for fostering an unstoppable creative force, allowing Qatar to be recognized globally for supporting Arab voices in cinema, television, and all forms of art.
The film directors, Amal Al-Muftah and Rouda Al-Thani, expressed their pride in celebrating the premiere of “To the Sons of the Nation”. As filmmakers who were born and raised in Qatar, they directly benefited from the vision of the Father Emir.
Witnessing the urban development of Doha, they also experienced the respect for women’s rights in their country, seizing the opportunity to learn and develop their skills in the highest institutions, evolving alongside their country’s renaissance.
