Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, held phone conversations with the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, and the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziyad al-Nakhalah, to discuss the latest developments regarding the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the minister emphasized the immediate cessation of Israel’s crimes against the innocent residents of Gaza as a key factor in establishing stability and tranquility in the entire region.
Abdollahian reiterated to Haniyeh and al-Nakhalah that the Palestinian people, the true owners of Palestinian land, have the right to determine their destiny and future, and no party has the right to impose its will and plans on them. He also lauded the heroic resistance of the Palestinian people during the four months of war.
Haniyeh briefed the Iranian side on the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, as well as the political plans and initiatives regarding the cessation of the Israeli war and the exchange of prisoners, according to the same statement.
The head of Hamas’ political bureau emphasized that they would not consider the proposed solutions unless they serve the interests of the Palestinian people.
Abdollahian also discussed the latest developments in Gaza and Palestine and the proposals presented to the Palestinian factions regarding the cessation of the ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners with the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad.
The statement also highlighted Abdollahian’s emphasis, during his conversation with al-Nakhalah, on the necessity of continuing regional and international efforts to immediately halt Israel’s crimes against the innocent residents of Gaza and to oppose forced displacement.
Al-Nakhalah stressed that the Palestinian people will ultimately emerge victorious from the war and will have no choice but to submit to the will of the Palestinian people.
