The Israeli occupation forces continued their bombing of locations in Gaza this Friday, resulting in the fall of dozens of martyrs and injured people. Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced an increase in its casualties following the death of a soldier who succumbed to his injuries.
The occupation’s air raids targeted homes and residential neighborhoods in Gaza City, Khan Yunis, and Beit Hanoun. Al Jazeera’s correspondent confirmed that the number of martyrs from the bombing which targeted a residential apartment near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City has risen to 15.
The correspondent clarified that eight Palestinians were martyred following last night’s bombing of a house in the Khan Yunis refugee camp, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
According to the correspondent, intense shelling from the occupation’s warships targeted the coast of Gaza City and the northern sector, also confirming that there were casualties from bombing on the Al-Noor Mosque in the Al-Sabra neighborhood in Gaza City.
Amid the continued disruption of telecommunications and internet services in the Gaza Strip for the eighth consecutive day, Al Jazeera’s correspondent observed clashes and artillery shelling in the center and west of Khan Yunis, south of the Strip.
Israeli Losses
On the other hand, the Israeli army announced the death of a soldier from the “Givati” Brigade due to wounds inflicted two days ago, as well as the severe injury of three others in battles in the south of the Strip.
With this, the number of Israeli soldiers and officers killed since Operation Cast Lead and the subsequent Israeli war on Gaza has risen to 530, including 201 since the start of the ground war on October 26.
The Israeli army declared that 28 soldiers and officers wounded in battles in Gaza were transferred to hospitals within Israel during the last 24 hours.
In response, the Al-Quds Brigades announced they had launched a barrage of mortar shells at a concentration of soldiers and occupation forces’ vehicles in Al-Sayida area east of Al-Maghazi in the central Strip.
The Al-Qassam Brigades also confirmed they had fired rockets at the Kissufim military site on the outskirts of Gaza, resulting in the sounding of sirens in several border towns.
Earlier on Thursday, the Al-Qassam Brigades released imagery claiming to show their fighters clashing with enemy soldiers and machinery in the neighborhoods of Al-Tuffah and Al-Daraj in Gaza City.
Furthermore, the Al-Qassam Brigades broadcasted scenes they claimed to show targeting an entrenched Israeli force inside a building in Jabalia town, north of the Gaza Strip, causing both fatalities and injuries among its members.
