French MP of the France Insoumise party, Thomas Portes, has called for the awarding of the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize to Gaza’s healthcare workers.

Portes posted on the X platform highlighting that Israeli war criminals have been killing Palestinian people.

He urged for immediate action to nominate Gaza’s healthcare sector workers for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize.

The French legislator shared a link to a campaign in support of this proposal, encouraging signatures for the cause.

The official campaign website (www.change.org) sheds light on the humanitarian situation and devastation experienced in the Gaza Strip, as well as the challenging conditions faced by healthcare workers there while carrying out their duties.

The mention specifies that despite airstrikes and widespread destruction, Gaza’s healthcare workers continue their mission.

It was reported that 267 healthcare workers in Gaza have been killed, with over 40 others kidnapped or missing since the beginning of the recent conflict up until December 4, 2023. The campaign has currently garnered the support of 65,920 signatories.

Since October 7, the Israeli military has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which had resulted in 22,722 martyrs and 58,166 injured as of last Saturday, most of whom are children and women. This has also caused significant damage to infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
