Lebanese Hezbollah announced on Sunday the death of one of its members in clashes with the Israeli Defense Forces along the southern borders of Lebanon, bringing the death toll of the party to 109 since October 8th.
The Israeli army also reported that Hezbollah targeted the settlement of Sa'sa' in the Upper Galilee region of northern Israel with an anti-tank missile, to which it responded with artillery fire on Lebanese territory.
In a statement, Hezbollah claimed its fighters targeted four Israeli soldiers east of the Sa'sa' settlement with adequate weaponry and "achieved confirmed hits".
Meanwhile, the Israeli Army Radio reported that "Hezbollah fired an anti-tank missile at the kibbutz of Sa'sa' without causing casualties," noting that the army is retaliating by bombarding Lebanese territory with artillery.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported that a building in the Sa'sa' settlement in the Upper Galilee suffered damage after being hit by a guided missile from Lebanon.
On Saturday, the Israeli military announced the death of one of its soldiers and the serious injury of two others in an operational activity near the Margaliot settlement in the Upper Galilee.
At the time, Army Radio stated the incident was a result of targeting by an explosive-laden drone operated by Hezbollah.
Hezbollah at Arm's Length
On Friday, Benny Gantz, a member of the Israeli security cabinet, vowed to "push Hezbollah away from the borders if the world does not take action," following a meeting with representatives from the border communities adjacent to Lebanon.
Previously, Tel Aviv had advised tens of thousands of Israelis from the border towns with Lebanon to leave their homes since the outset of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7th.
In solidarity with the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah and Palestinian factions in Lebanon have been exchanging fire with the Israeli army since October 8th, which has resulted in dozens of casualties on both sides of the Blue Line.
According to the French Press Agency two days earlier, the escalation in southern Lebanon has so far resulted in the death of 129 people, including 91 Hezbollah fighters, 17 civilians among which are 3 journalists, in addition to a Lebanese soldier. On the other hand, at least 10 Israelis have been killed, including soldiers.
