Death Toll Climbs as Intense Airstrikes Continue to Ravage Gaza

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has released a fresh toll of casualties resulting from the Israeli aggression on the region, as Israeli forces persist in bombarding residential areas and refugee camps.

The Health Ministry has reported that the number of martyrs from the Israeli onslaught on Gaza has risen to 26,900, with the injured tally reaching 65,949 since October 7 last year.

It has been revealed that 16 massacres have been committed by the occupation in the region, claiming the lives of 150 martyrs and leaving 313 individuals wounded within the past 24 hours.

An Al Jazeera correspondent has stated that the occupation forces demolished a residential block in the middle of the Khan Yunis governorate this Wednesday morning, engaging in artillery shelling in the governorate’s central and western regions. The number of martyrs in these areas has reached 17 since yesterday.

The correspondent also mentioned that martyrs and casualties were recorded following Israeli artillery shelling in Beit Hanoun, northeast of Gaza.

Israeli airstrikes targeted Jabalia in northern Gaza, with reports of intense Israeli warplanes flying over the northern boundaries of the enclave.

Aerial bombardment also struck the southern areas of Gaza City, with an explosion being reported in the city center.

Reportedly, the occupation forces shelled a house in the Daraaj neighborhood, east of Gaza City, resulting in injuries. Furthermore, clashes between Palestinian resistance and occupation forces are ongoing in the western areas of northern Gaza, with intense gunfire being heard.

Occupation forces targeted a house in the al-Bureij camp in central Gaza in the past hours, as well as the vicinity of a school sheltering refugees in the al-Nusairat camp in the central region. Additionally, 11 martyrs, including two children, were transported to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, following an Israeli occupation forces’ shelling of a Palestinian family’s home.

An Al Jazeera correspondent reported armed confrontations between occupation forces and resistance elements near the Equestrian Club, indicating that the clashes are occurring amid heavy gunfire from occupation military vehicles.

Red Crescent Targeted

Yesterday, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that Israeli forces threw smoke bombs at the gate of its building in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, causing the tents of the displaced within the premises to catch on fire. The Palestinian Red Crescent also stated that the occupation forces demolished the external wall of the building and fired at the refugees and Red Crescent personnel using smoke bombs and live ammunition.

In a statement yesterday evening, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, characterized the Israeli army’s raid on the Palestinian Red Crescent building and the Hope Hospital in Khan Yunis as a war crime.

It warned of the potential for a new massacre after the occupation’s raid on the Palestinian Red Crescent building and Hope Hospital in Khan Yunis, amidst the intensive firing on medical teams, wounded individuals, and refugees.

Occupation forces have continued to besiege the Hope Hospital and Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis for the tenth consecutive day. The Gaza Health Ministry stated yesterday that the Israeli occupation has targeted 150 medical personnel, 450 wounded, and 3,000 refugees due to the ongoing siege.

The Ministry confirmed the depletion of food supplies allocated for medical teams, wounded individuals, and refugees at the Nasser Medical Complex, with waste piling up in the complex’s sections and yards due to the occupation’s refusal to allow its removal.

Furthermore, the Ministry warned that the generators at the Nasser Medical Complex will cease functioning within two days due to fuel shortages.

The Ministry has reiterated the rise in the death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza to 26,751 martyrs and 65,636 wounded since the beginning of the aggression on October 7 last year.
