Israeli forces stormed the city of Jenin and its refugee camp early Saturday morning, from the Jalameh and Salem checkpoints, sparking violent clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters.
In addition to Jenin, the Israeli army invaded several other cities and towns across the West Bank, conducting raids and arresting Palestinians.
Eyewitnesses reported that the invading forces also entered the cities of Nablus and Bethlehem, as well as the towns of Beit Ummar north of Hebron and Ein Yabrud to the east of Ramallah, along with the town of Silwan, situated south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
Israeli forces also made incursions into the city of Yatta, south of Hebron, and the city of Jericho from its southern entrance, patrolling various neighborhoods.
The occupiers deployed additional forces towards the refugee camps of Aqabat Jaber and Ein Sultan in Jericho.
Confrontations erupted between Palestinian youths and the occupation forces, which launched a drone for reconnaissance and surveillance over the city.
Videos circulated by Palestinian media outlets depicted mosque loudspeakers in the Ein Sultan camp, calling for locals to confront the ongoing incursions by the occupation.
In the town of Jenin, video clips showed Israeli forces launching flares into the sky above the camp in the early hours.
Witnesses stated that over 18 military vehicles were present in Jenin, spreading across various neighborhoods and laying siege to the camp from the areas of Dawwar al-Husan and Hayy al-Ghabz.
Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that occupation forces positioned themselves at the city's government hospital and completely cut off its electricity, as well as that of its camp.
Moreover, the Israeli army carried out raids on locations and buildings overlooking the camp, positioning sniper teams within and atop these structures.
Additionally, the Tulkarm battalion of the Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, announced that its fighters successfully carried out a shooting operation targeting an Israeli army infantry force near the Karak gate in Deir al-Ghusun, north of Tulkarm, claiming direct hits.
This ongoing escalation in the West Bank coincides with the continuous Israeli bombardment of several areas in the Gaza Strip, on the 78th consecutive day, amid tightened security and recurrent raids on multiple cities and towns in the occupied West Bank since the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7 last year.
