The Iraqi Islamic Resistance, comprising several Iraqi factions, announced last Friday that it targeted locations within the occupied Palestinian territories, in response to Israeli aggression in Gaza.

In two separate statements, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance stated that it attacked with "appropriate" weaponry a so-called "Zionist military target in occupied Palestine near the Jordan River Park" in the early hours of Friday.

Additionally, the group declared it targeted a "vital objective in Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat)" with suitable arms, promising to continue pounding "enemy strongholds with more attacks."

Late in December of last year, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance claimed it had targeted the Karish Israeli gas field platform, confirming the attack hit the target directly. It also mentioned launching an attack on a location in occupied Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), the southernmost point of Israel on the Red Sea, with "appropriate weapons."

Since October 7th last year, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance has announced attacks with drones and missiles against military bases housing American forces in both Iraq and Syria.
