The Israeli Defense Forces announced early Sunday the deaths of an officer and a soldier, as well as injuries to two officers and three soldiers with serious wounds amidst the ongoing battles in the northern and southern regions of the Gaza Strip.

The military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, known as the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, released footage on Saturday of a sophisticated operation carried out last Friday. They claim their fighters eliminated ten Israeli soldiers in the area of Juhor ad-Dik, east of the central Gaza region.

On Saturday, Israel's Channel 12 reported that 20 soldiers had been killed in the Shuja'iyya battles during the past week. Moreover, the Israeli army also disclosed that 35 soldiers had been injured in the last 24 hours.

The Qassam Brigades spokesman, Abu Obeida, stated on Friday that in the past five days their fighters managed to target more than 100 Israeli military vehicles.

Despite the severe fighting in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Defense Forces are sustaining significant losses. It was announced that, as of the past Thursday, the number of their dead had reached 445 military personnel, including 119 officers, which represents nearly 27% of the casualties.

In contrast, Abu Obeida emphasized that the official figures released by the Israeli army concerning the number of deaths and injuries are not accurate. He asserted that "what is disintegrating is the enemy's army, not the al-Qassam Brigades."

These developments occur on the 72nd day of the Israeli offensive on Gaza, with the Israeli forces continuing their bombardment of various regions within the Strip. To date, this has resulted in 18,800 martyrs and 51,000 injuries, predominantly among children and women, in addition to extensive destruction of residential buildings, vital facilities, and hospitals.
