The Israeli military acknowledged early this Sunday the death of a reservist officer and engineering corps soldier in clashes with resistance forces in the southern Gaza Strip, coinciding with the 100th day of its offensive on Gaza. In a statement, the army said, "The assistant reservist, Indoualem Kapida, 21 years old from Kiryat Gat (southern Israel), was killed during last night's battles in the south of the Gaza Strip." The statement further indicated that the soldier was part of the "Saar Magolan" brigade. Additionally, the Israeli army announced 12 officers and soldiers were wounded in skirmishes within the sector over the last 24 hours. Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the Israeli rescue unit (669) continues to transport injured soldiers from the central Gaza battles. Clashes involving heavy machine guns continue in the Al-Bureij refugee camp, situated in the heart of the strip, between resistance fighters and soldiers of the Israeli military, according to the correspondent. The Israeli occupation army's death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 523 officers and soldiers since October 7, 2023, while Palestinian resistance insists the Israeli military's death toll is far higher than reported. The occupation army disclosed that 1,106 personnel have been wounded since the ground operation commenced, with 240 of them sustaining critical injuries. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli military has waged a devastating war on the Gaza Strip. As of this Sunday morning, the conflict has resulted in 23,968 martyrs and 60,582 injuries, most of whom are children and women. This has also led to massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster according to the sector's authorities and the United Nations.
