Early Monday, Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire during raids conducted in several areas of the West Bank. These incursions into cities such as Nablus, Qalqilya, Jericho, Bethlehem, and Hebron included clashes with resistance fighters.
According to Al Jazeera's correspondent, Israeli forces entered the northern West Bank city of Nablus from multiple directions. Resistance fighters targeted the invading occupation vehicles with gunfire in Palestine Street and the Martyrs' Circle, and the armed confrontations were described as intense, resulting in gunshot wounds to a young man.
Activists also reported that occupation forces raided the town of Beit Furik east of Nablus.
In the northern West Bank, the Israeli army invaded towns near Qalqilya city, including Jayyous, Azzun, Baqat al-Hatab, and Habla, sparking confrontations with Palestinian youths. These clashes were accompanied by house raids and the arrest of several young men. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that a young man was shot by occupation forces in Baqat al-Hatab.
In Tulkarm city, occupation forces stormed the Shweika suburb and detained a student.
Similarly, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that two Palestinians were injured during the occupation's incursion into the southern Hebron city of Yatta, adding that the town of Dura in the south was also raided.
Furthermore, the correspondent revealed that Israeli occupation forces stormed the Deheisheh and Aida refugee camps in Bethlehem, located south of the West Bank.
Early today, incursions also hit the eastern West Bank city of Jericho, where occupation forces arrested a girl; the town of Abwein, northwest of Ramallah, was also invaded.
Ongoing Escalation
These new raids on various cities, towns, and camps come as part of a broad Israeli escalation in the West Bank since resistance forces launched the "Deluge of Jerusalem" campaign on October 7th. The operations follow hours after the occupation forces withdrew from the Nur Shams camp in Tulkarm, following an assault that resulted in the martyrdom of five Palestinians, some targeted by drones.
As a result, the number of martyrs in the occupied West Bank has risen to nine in less than 24 hours, totaling 297 martyrs since October 7th, and 505 martyrs, including 111 children, since the beginning of the current year.
In response, national and Islamic forces in Tulkarm announced a comprehensive strike in all walks of life yesterday to mourn the martyrs.
In Rantis (west of Ramallah), an Israeli soldier was wounded yesterday in a stabbing incident, and the occupation army later announced the arrest of the perpetrator and several of his family members in the village.
Amidst the continuous Israeli escalation in the West Bank, the occupation forces have arrested more than 4,000 Palestinians over the past two months.
