Israeli Raids and Arrests Sweep Through the West Bank, Palestinians Injured

Israeli forces continued their nighttime arrest campaigns in the occupied towns and cities of the West Bank early Monday, detaining several Palestinian youths. Others were injured due to being shot or subjected to severe beatings.

Ramallah, Nablus, and Tulkarm

Israeli forces stormed the town of Kafr Ein north of Ramallah in the West Bank, injuring a Palestinian youth with live ammunition during the incursion. Local Palestinian platforms posted video clips documenting the Israeli forces’ raid on the home of prisoner Rami Barghouti during the storming of the town.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that the Israeli forces also entered the town of Beitunia west of Ramallah. Local Palestinian accounts shared scenes of the Israeli forces’ intrusion into the town. Israeli troops also invaded the towns of Mazra’a al-Sharqiya and Silwad east of Ramallah.

Furthermore, Israeli forces stormed the town of Zawata west of Nablus in the West Bank. Local Palestinian platforms posted video clips documenting this incursion. They also raided the town of Sebastia in Nablus, as well as Bita’s western neighborhood south of Nablus.

In Tulkarm, a Palestinian youth was injured by Israeli gunfire during a raid in the Shweika suburb north of the city. The young man was in his car trying to avoid the foot patrol, which had conducted patrols in the suburb, but they shot at him, hitting him with two bullets, causing his car to veer off and crash into an electricity pole.

Jenin, Bethlehem, and Hebron

In Jenin, north of the West Bank, two Palestinian youths were injured from severe beatings at the hands of Israeli soldiers in the town of Yabad southwest of the city. Pedestrian forces from the Israeli army also invaded the village of Faqqu’a northeast of Jenin, according to local sources.

Also, in Jenin, Al Jazeera’s correspondent mentioned that Palestinian fighters fired at the Israeli military checkpoint of Jalama north of the city. He added that the Israeli forces stormed the village of Jalama north of Jenin after the checkpoint came under fire and launched a widespread combing operation in search of the attackers.

Meanwhile, confrontations and clashes erupted in the town of Nahalin west of Bethlehem. The Israeli army fired live bullets and tear gas at Palestinian homes, closed shops, and sent military reinforcements to the town in response to Palestinian youths who countered the raid.

Palestinian accounts on social media displayed video clips documenting the Israeli forces’ invasion of Beit Ummar town, north of the city of Hebron in the southern West Bank.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent mentioned that the Israeli forces also invaded the city of Al-Dhahiriya south of Hebron amid live gunfire, raided several homes, and stormed the Al-Aroub refugee camp north of Hebron.

Jerusalem

Israeli forces also invaded the Shuafat refugee camp north of occupied Jerusalem, arresting a young man from the camp. Local Palestinian platforms posted a video clip documenting the young man’s arrest.

Israeli police, accompanied by municipal crews and a military bulldozer, stormed the town of Silwan on Sunday afternoon. They spread out in the Al-Thuri neighborhood, closed the road leading to it, and began demolishing the fence of a house without notifying the family.

Arrests

Israeli forces arrested 15 Palestinians, including former prisoners, in operations that continued until Sunday night in various parts of the West Bank. Among those arrested were three young men from the Shweiki family in Al-Thuri neighborhood, south of Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli forces assaulted these young men while they resisted the demolition of a wall surrounding their home, on the pretext of opening a street around the neighborhood.
