The Israeli Defense Force announced the death of a soldier in battles in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, as well as confirming that an officer and two soldiers were seriously injured in ongoing clashes in the central and southern regions of the enclave.
Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli military reported that 16 of their personnel were wounded in Gaza clashes, while Israeli media reported an incident where a reservist soldier returning from combat in the Gaza Strip shot and killed his friend in Tel Aviv.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), declared on Saturday that they had inflicted casualties on 16 Israeli officers and soldiers, causing both deaths and injuries. They also claimed to have partially or completely destroyed several military vehicles.
In addition to these confrontations, the Qassam Brigades stated that their fighters targeted Israeli military command posts and troop gatherings with mortar shells six times in different combat zones across the Gaza Strip.

Fierce battles erupted on Saturday between the Israeli forces and the Palestinian resistance in the northern parts of the Gaza Strip, with Israel acknowledging a number of its soldiers had been wounded.
The Qassam Brigades reported that the Palestinian resistance factions had repelled attempts by the Israeli forces to advance in the area of Jabaliya in the east. The brigades also announced they had shelled Israeli soldiers near the northeast of the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza with heavy-caliber mortar shells.
Meanwhile, Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, stated that they had targeted an Israeli position near the Martyrs’ Mosque in Khan Younis, which was being used for command and control purposes.
The ongoing clashes mark a significant escalation in the Gaza Strip, with both sides reporting casualties and damage to military infrastructure. The situation remains fluid, and further developments are expected as both Israeli and Gazan forces continue to engage in the conflict.
