Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has stated that “there is a wide consensus that the Zionist entity has lost the war in Gaza and has become defeated and fragmented,” while praising the Houthi operations in the Red Sea.
During a meeting with Friday prayer leaders held at the “Imam Khomeini Husseinia” in the capital Tehran, Iran’s top authority expressed his belief that peoples of the world, including Muslims and non-Muslims, view the “usurping Zionist entity as cruel, unjust, bloodthirsty, and that it is in a state of sorrow, defeat, and disintegration, while the entire world agrees that the people of Gaza are oppressed yet victorious.”
Khamenei also remarked that the Yemenis “have severed Israel’s vital lifelines and did not fear the threats of the United States,” describing the Houthi’s support for Palestine as “a significant deed deserving of appraisal and commendation.”
He further expressed his hope that “these efforts, resistance, and activities will continue until victory is achieved by the will of God Almighty.”
In solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been under a destructive Israeli military campaign since October 7, supported by the West, the Houthis have been targeting Red Sea cargo ships owned, operated by Israeli firms, or carrying goods to and from Israel with missiles and drones.
This has led to a statement by the White House on behalf of 10 countries announcing that American and British forces have carried out joint attacks against targets in areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen.
In response, the military spokesperson for the Ansar Allah group (the Houthis), Yahya Saree, stated on Monday that the group considers American and British ships as military targets “until the aggression on the Gaza Strip comes to a halt,” affirming that trade movement in the Arabian Sea and Red Sea will continue towards all destinations “except for the ports of occupied Palestine.”
