Lingard Receives Record 26 Offers in Winter Transfer Window
With the closure of the winter transfer window on January 31, Jesse Lingard, the former Manchester United player, received 26 offers from various clubs, without reaching a final agreement with any of them.
Lingard departed from English side Nottingham Forest at the end of the 2022-2023 season and has not joined any team since then. However, his name has been linked with several clubs, notably Italian side Lazio and Saudi side Al-Ittihad.
According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail,” Lingard has received a significant number of offers, reaching 26, but has not yet signed with any new club.
Despite training with West Ham and Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia since leaving Nottingham Forest last summer, Lingard has failed to secure a contract.
However, reports suggest that the player is close to reaching an agreement with South Korean club “FC Seoul.” Several clubs worldwide appear eager to acquire Lingard’s services; nevertheless, Seoul remains the leading candidate to secure his signature, even as the player carefully considers all his options before making a final decision.
Lingard excelled with Manchester United in 2015 after years on loan to English clubs Leicester City, Birmingham, Brighton, and Derby County.
During his time with Manchester United, Lingard scored 35 goals and provided 21 assists in 232 appearances, winning titles such as the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Community Shield, and the UEFA Europa League.
Afterward, Lingard (31 years old) was loaned to West Ham United in 2021, before permanently moving to Nottingham Forest in 2022.
Internationally, Lingard has scored 6 goals in 32 international matches for the England national team.
