Goals from Diogo Jota (23), Connor Bradley (39), Dominic Solanke (65), and Luis Diaz (79) secured the win for Liverpool, while Christopher Nkunku scored Chelsea’s lone goal in the 71st minute.
Liverpool continued their strong run, securing their fourth consecutive victory and advancing to 51 points at the top of the league. Manchester City follows closely with 46 points (with a postponed match), along with Arsenal, who also have 46 points.
Meanwhile, Chelsea suffered their ninth league defeat, halting a three-game winning streak and remaining at 31 points in the tenth position.
In another match, Manchester City reclaimed the second spot in the Premier League with a convincing 3-1 victory over Burnley in the 22nd round of the competition. Argentine star Julian Alvarez shone in the match, scoring the first two goals for Manchester City in the 16th and 22nd minutes, while Rodri sealed the victory with a goal in the 46th minute. On the other side, Belgian player Amin De Ketelaere scored Burnley’s only goal in the third minute of stoppage time in the second half.
The match, held at the Etihad Stadium, witnessed the return of the young Norwegian forward Erling Haaland, who came on as a substitute after recovering from a long-term injury.
With this win, Manchester City, the titleholder for the past three seasons, secured their 14th victory of the season, moving up to 43 points and claiming the second position, tied with Arsenal but ahead on goal difference, noting that Manchester City still has a postponed match against Brentford.
Conversely, Burnley’s tally paused at 12 points, securing their 16th defeat in the current season, alongside three wins and three draws, placing them at the 19th position.
