The Israeli army raided cities and towns in the occupied West Bank early Tuesday, resulting in the martyrdom of a Palestinian and injuries to others, according to witnesses and Palestinian sources.
The occupation forces carried out incursions in Ramallah, Al-Bireh (central), Qalqilya (north), Jenin city, and its camp (north), as well as towns in Hebron governorate (south) and a number of camps and towns in Nablus governorate (north).
Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that the occupation forces stormed several areas in Jenin city from multiple axes, besieged the entrance to its camp late on Monday night, and also raided areas in Hebron, conducting house searches.
The occupation forces patrolled in the streets of Haifa and Zahra neighborhoods in Jenin with bulldozers, as well as besieged the entrance to Jenin camp amidst gunfire exchange with resistors and intensive reconnaissance planes flying over the city. The city and its camp sirens were sounded.
The occupation forces completely withdrew from Jenin city and its camp after a 6-hour military operation.
The occupation forces also stormed Qalqilya city from its northern axis, besieging several neighborhoods.
A Palestinian was martyred by Israeli army gunfire in Qalqilya, bringing the toll to 394 since October 7 last year.
In Hebron, the occupation forces raided Beit Ummar town, Ashkharah areas south of Yatta city, and north of Hebron, where they patrolled, raided homes, searched them, and tampered with their contents. They also raided the town of Samu’ south of Hebron and raided several homes.
Settlers also attacked shepherds in Susiya village near Yatta and prevented them from reaching their lands. They also searched several homes and vandalized furniture, causing material damage to properties.
In Nablus, Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that a group of settlers raided Haris town south of the city, spread in several neighborhoods, attacked Palestinians and their properties, set fire to vehicles and several homes, amid tight security protection by the occupation forces. They chanted racist slogans before withdrawing from the town.
The settlers, with the protection of the occupation army, also attacked the town of Asira al-Qibliya south of Nablus city, assaulted residents, burned a car, and parts of two houses on the outskirts of the town.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that several Palestinians were injured to varying degrees and suffered from suffocation due to live ammunition and tear gas fired by the occupation forces.
In another development, the occupation army distributed threat leaflets to the residents of Al-Ram town north of the occupied Jerusalem before withdrawing, urging them to report the resistors.
In the occupied Jerusalem as well, the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club announced in a joint statement the martyrdom of the detainee Mohammad Abu Sneineh, 16, as a result of his injury by Israeli forces’ gunfire on the pretext of carrying out a stabbing operation in the Old City on Monday evening.
According to the Ministry of Health data, the number of Palestinian martyrs since October 7 last year has risen to 394.
Violence by settlers against Palestinians in various parts of the occupied West Bank has significantly escalated in recent months amid the ongoing Israeli war since October 7 last year on the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to the Resistance against the Wall and Settlement Authority (governmental), settlers carried out 186 assaults on Palestinians and their properties during last January.
