Martyrs Count Exceeds 27,000, Bodies Retrieved in Khan Yunis

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today, Thursday, that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has exceeded 27,000 martyrs. In Khan Yunis in the south, paramedics retrieved the bodies of several martyrs after a partial withdrawal of occupation vehicles.

The ministry explained that the death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza – since October 2023 – has risen to 27,019 martyrs and 66,139 injured, mostly women and children.

It was also mentioned that the Israeli occupation committed 15 massacres in the sector during the past 24 hours, resulting in 118 martyrs and around 190 injured.

Paramedics retrieved the bodies of several martyrs from the city of Khan Yunis in the south of Gaza after a partial withdrawal of occupation vehicles, while the Israeli forces, for the third time, stormed the Palestinian Red Crescent headquarters amid ongoing clashes west of Gaza City.

Al Jazeera correspondent reported the martyrdom of two young men and the injury of others in the shelling of the Abu Fayyad family home in the new camp west of Nuseirat in central Gaza, noting that the Israeli raids targeted a house in Deir al-Balah and agricultural land in the village of Al-Masdar in central Gaza.

Intense clashes were heard east of the Al-Bureij and Al-Maghazi camps in the central Gaza, indicating that the clashes have been ongoing since the early hours of the morning west of Gaza.

On the other hand, the Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported that dozens were injured by Israeli artillery and missile shelling targeting the Al-Rimal neighborhood and Tal Al-Hawa in Gaza City, with ambulances unable to reach them.

In the southern sector, an Al Jazeera correspondent reported that Israeli warships heavily shelled the coast of the sea in the city of Rafah, while Israeli warplanes targeted empty land on the Palestinian-Egyptian border south of Rafah.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that occupation vehicles stormed its headquarters, which housed displaced people in Khan Yunis for the third time, and fired heavily around the Al-Amal Hospital before withdrawing. The Red Crescent added that the gunfire resulted in the martyrdom of 12 Palestinians, including one of its staff and a volunteer, and the injury of 6 others.

Alternatively, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the army burned the homes of Palestinians in Gaza, acting on orders from its officers leading the fighting.

Meanwhile, Yedioth Ahronoth indicated that the Israeli army burned houses in Gaza “due to a shortage of explosives.”
