As the Israeli military conflict with Gaza enters its 90th day, the occupation forces have intensified their bombardment on the Maghazi and Nusseirat refugee camps at the heart of the territory, as well as inhabited homes and hospitals in Khan Younis in the south. The relentless attacks have left a toll of martyrs and injuries, while the Gaza media office confirms that the Israeli army has launched over 45,000 rockets and bombs on the sector since the aggression commenced, equivalent in weight to three nuclear bombs.
Al Jazeera's correspondent reports that Israeli jets conducted a series of raids on the Maghazi and Nusseirat camps in central Gaza during the early morning hours, leading to the martyrdom of two Palestinians and the injury of others in the Maghazi camp, while some remain missing beneath the rubble of targeted houses.
The correspondent noted that the continuous air raids by the occupation have ignited fires in the Maghazi camp.
Furthermore, Al Jazeera's correspondent added that an Israeli airstrike targeting a house west of the Deir al-Balah camp in central Gaza resulted in the martyrdom of ten Palestinians, amidst ongoing heavy artillery and aerial bombing in the Zawayda area of the central sector.
In the southern part of the territory, the correspondent reported that fourteen Palestinians, mostly children, were martyred in an Israeli bombardment targeting a house sheltering displaced people west of Khan Younis.
The occupation forces also bombed the vicinity of the Nasser medical complex in the city, following Wednesday’s attack near the Al-Amal Hospital associated with the Red Crescent Medical Society in Khan Younis, in a continued targeting of medical facilities.
The occupation's naval warships also opened fire on the coast of Rafah city in the south of the sector, though the extent of the resulting damage remains unknown.
"Bombardment Equivalent to the Power of 3 Nuclear Bombs"
On its part, the Gaza government media office stated on Wednesday that the Israeli army has bombarded the sector with more than 45,000 rockets and bombs, weighing in excess of 65,000 tons since October 7th. They mentioned that during the all-encompassing genocidal war, Israeli planes dropped giant bombs, some weighing up to 907 kilograms of explosives, deliberately on entire residential blocks.
The office emphasized that the total weight of explosives dropped by the army on the sector surpasses 65,000 tons, which exceeds the weight and power of three nuclear bombs similar to the one dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
The media office elucidated that about two-thirds of the bombs and missiles unleashed by Israeli aircraft on the Gaza governorates were unguided and imprecise, also known as "dumb bombs."
The use of such ordinance points to a deliberate intent by the occupation forces for indiscriminate and unjustified killing, a blatant and explicit violation of international law and various international agreements.
The office documented Israel's use of approximately nine bombs and missiles that are internationally banned, targeting civilians, including children and women.
The Israeli aggression has resulted in the martyrdom of 22,313 people by Wednesday, with 57,296 others injured, the majority being children and women.
