Israeli Forces Persist in West Bank Confrontations and House Raids
Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on West Bank cities, renewing their incursions into several towns and villages on Friday night and early Saturday morning, sparking confrontations in various areas between Palestinian youths and the occupying soldiers.
In the city of Hebron, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that occupation forces stormed the Al-Dahar area in Beit Ummar north of the city and raided citizens' homes.
The Israeli occupation forces also invaded the area of Tel Rumeida in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, and stormed a number of homes in the region.
Simultaneously, occupation forces fired at an ambulance belonging to the Popular Committee for Services of the Arroub refugee camp north of Hebron, directly hitting it after clashes broke out in the camp.
Israeli settlers shot a young man in the village of Surif, north of Hebron.
Incursions in Nablus and Patrols in Qalqilya
In Nablus, Al Jazeera's correspondent said the Israeli occupation forces raided the Old City, and clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters ensued.
Earlier, the occupying forces had stormed the eastern area of Nablus from the Awarta checkpoint south of the city.
Occupation forces entered the city of Qalqilya in the West Bank from its southern axis and patrolled the Shreim neighborhood and the street of the Bank of Palestine south of the city.
Confrontations erupted between Palestinian youths and occupation forces before the latter withdrew later.
In Jenin, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that Palestinian resistance fighters opened fire on the Jalama military checkpoint north of the city of Jenin.
Injury in Qabatiya
On Friday evening, a youth from the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, was injured by Israeli occupation forces' fire at a military checkpoint near the town of Asira.
The director of Jenin Hospital, Wisam Baker, and security sources stated that the young man from Qabatiya was shot in the leg while passing through a military checkpoint near Asira in the Nablus district. He received first aid in Asira, then was transferred to Jenin Hospital.
The occupation forces also raided the Shweika suburb in the city of Tulkarem Northern West Bank.
Funeral Procession for a Martyr
In the village of Beit Rima northwest of Ramallah in the West Bank, residents mourned the Palestinian teen Osaid Rimawi (17 years old), who was martyred by the occupation soldiers' bullets.
Video footage from a surveillance camera captured the moment when teen Osaid Rimawi was shot. Other youths rushed to rescue him, but occupation soldiers opened intense fire, injuring several of them. Military vehicles arrived at the site, and the medical aid to martyr Rimawi was prevented until he succumbed to his injuries.
The Palestinian Red Crescent stated that six Palestinian youths were injured, including two with serious wounds, during confrontations with the occupation forces that erupted in the center of the town following the invasion by forces.
Since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinian martyrs by Israeli occupation and settler fire in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem has risen to 326, including seven martyrs in less than a week since the beginning of the current year 2024.
