The Israeli occupation army invaded cities, camps, and towns in the West Bank in the early hours of Monday and arrested at least 20 Palestinians. Palestinian sources indicated that the arrests included ex-prisoners from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Islamic Jihad Movement.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that the occupation army raided the Al-Ain refugee camp west of Nablus in the northern West Bank amid clashes and explosions. The army besieged a house in the camp, leading to confrontations with scores of Palestinians. The army withdrew from the camp after arresting two citizens.
Additionally, Israeli forces also raided the city of Tubas in the northern West Bank, arresting two individuals, which incited clashes with dozens of Palestinians. Israeli forces utilized live ammunition, rubber bullets, and tear gas to disperse the Palestinians who were pelting stones at them, according to eyewitnesses.
The occupation forces deployed reinforcements through the Tha’labiya checkpoint and a military bulldozer commenced the excavation of some streets within the city.
The resistance factions announced targeting the invading Israeli forces’ vehicles in the city with a heavy barrage of bullets.
In addition, the Israeli occupation army conducted raids and arrests in Tulkarm and Jenin in the northern West Bank, detaining five and eight citizens, respectively. The operations were accompanied by clashes with Palestinian armed individuals in various locations of the cities. The occupation forces also raided the town of Ramin, east of Tulkarm, and patrolled its streets and alleys amidst the firing of live ammunition and tear gas canisters.
Moreover, in Hebron, Palestinian resistance fighters targeted the occupation forces with a homemade explosive device during the invasion of Beit Ummar town, north of the city. Israeli forces also invaded Halhul town, arresting three citizens and causing material damage to the vehicle of one of the citizens before withdrawing from the town.
Local Palestinian platforms published video clips documenting the invasion of the occupation forces into the town located north of the city of Hebron. Similar media sources also published footage documenting the invasion of the Israeli occupation forces into the town of Bidya, west of the city of Salfit in the West Bank. The footage confirmed the presence of occupation vehicles in the town’s neighborhoods and their reinforcement towards it.
With the onset of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israel escalated its military operations in the West Bank, resulting in 381 martyrs and nearly 4,400 casualties according to official Palestinian data.
