Israeli occupation forces have launched raids in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank from several axes since Thursday night. They have also continued their incursions in Husan, west of Bethlehem, marking the widest invasion of the town in years.
Occupation soldiers besieged the Al-Marah neighborhood and Az Al-Din Al-Qassam Valley in the eastern part of Jenin, raiding several homes. Gunfire was heard during the Israeli forces’ incursion, with alarm sirens sounding in the city and Jenin camp.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces also continued their incursion into the town of Husan, raiding a large number of homes, causing significant damage, and arresting dozens of Palestinians, including children. The town’s entrances were sealed off with cement blocks and earth mounds, and the area was declared a closed military zone as the raids and arrests continued.
In a separate incident, clashes broke out with Israeli forces during their raid on the Ain Al-Sultan camp north of Jericho in the Jordan Valley. Local sources reported that Israeli forces raided homes of families with detainees, searched and destroyed their contents before withdrawing from the area, while Palestinians set fire to rubber tires on the streets.
The raids and arrests in West Bank cities and camps continue amid a broad Israeli escalation since the launch of resistance’s battle Taufan Al-Aqsa on October 7th last year.
According to the latest data released by the Palestinian Prisoners Club last Thursday, the number of arrests in the West Bank since that date has exceeded 6460.
