The Palestinian Red Crescent has confirmed that it transported three martyrs from inside Nur Shams Camp, east of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, after Israeli occupation forces withdrew.

As a result, the number of martyrs who fell to the occupation forces' gunfire, which had raided the camp last night and this Sunday morning, has risen to five martyrs and four injured. Additionally, a sixth young man succumbed to injuries he had sustained days ago in Jenin Camp (north).

The Director of Ambulance and Emergency in Tulkarm reported that two injured individuals were transported.

Obstruction and Targeting

Earlier on, the Red Crescent reported that "the occupation forces hindered the work of ambulance and emergency crews from entering Nur Shams Camp to reach the injured and kidnapped two individuals from an ambulance."

The occupation army commenced its raid by targeting fighters with a drone that fired a rocket at them in Al-Manshiya neighborhood in Nur Shams, then proceeded with the raid that lasted hours. The forces, before withdrawing, destroyed streets, infrastructure and blew up a house belonging to the family of one of the fighters.

Occupation forces also raided a number of homes of citizens in the city and Nur Shams Camp east of the city amid sounds of explosions and intensive gunfire in many neighborhoods.

According to the official Palestinian news agency, before their withdrawal, the occupation forces imposed a tight siege on Nur Shams Camp and pushed their bulldozers and military vehicles toward Nablus Street and the entrance to Iktaba suburb toward the camp. During this time, violent confrontations took place, with heavy gunfire, and many streets were razed and destroyed.

General Strike

In this context, the national and Islamic forces in the Tulkarm governorate announced a general strike in all aspects of life in the governorate on Sunday, mourning the souls of the martyrs of Nur Shams and Gaza and condemning the "crimes and massacres" by the Israelis against the Palestinian people. The Directorate of Education also announced the suspension of school hours in all of the governorate's schools.

The toll of martyrs in the Tulkarm governorate since October 7, 2021, has risen to 51 martyrs, and the number of martyrs in the West Bank to 296.

Settlers' Attack

On another front, dozens of "extremist" settlers attacked Bedouins living on the Al-Ma'rajat road west of the city of Jericho in the eastern occupied West Bank.

The Bayader organization for the defense of Bedouin rights stated that dozens of settlers from "Mevoot Jericho" stormed the Bedouin gatherings in Al-Ma'rajat three times since the early morning hours.

The organization added that the settlers threw stones at the homes of the citizens and terrorized them, forcing the residents to remain inside their homes, expressing their fear of renewed attacks from these settlers.

Parallel to a devastating war it has been waging on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2021, the Israeli army intensified its operations of raids, searches, arrests, and killings in the occupied West Bank. This resulted in the martyrdom of 297 Palestinians and approximately 3,430 injuries, with 4,520 arrests, according to official Palestinian sources.

As of the evening of last Friday, the Israeli army has killed 18,800 Palestinians in Gaza and injured 51,000, most of whom are children and women, in addition to causing massive destruction to infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
