Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), has broadcasted a new message directed to the families of Israeli prisoners it holds, entitled “Your Government Lies,” mere hours after the group’s spokesman, Abu Ubaida, announced the uncertain fate of many Israeli captives.
The video release featured three Israelis identified as Hila Armoni (age 26), a resident of Beersheba; Yosef Shraibman (age 53); and Tahis Versky (age 38), residing in Tel Aviv.
Armoni addressed the Israeli government in the footage, stating, “Stop this madness and return us to our families.” Similarly, Versky conveyed a message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, imploring, “Please stop the war and bring us home.”
For his part, Shraibman expressed, “That’s why the war must now end,” referencing the conflict which had surpassed its 100th day.
The Qassam Brigades concluded their message to the families of the Israeli captives with “We will inform you tomorrow of their fate… Your government lies.”
Earlier on Sunday, Abu Ubaida emphasized that the occupation had failed to achieve its objectives or to liberate any prisoner held by the resistance.
He noted that the fate of many Israeli prisoners had become unknown in the past weeks, adding that it was likely many of them had been killed and that the occupation bears responsibility for their fate.
