Israeli Occupation Forces Conduct New Arrests and Raids in West Bank Regions
In a string of encounters on Thursday evening, Israeli occupation forces carried out new raids and arrests across various areas of the West Bank, meeting resistance from Palestinian elements in Tubas, Ramallah, and Hebron.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that three Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire during clashes that erupted with Palestinian youths following an Israeli force incursion in the city of Halhul, located north of Hebron, for the second time in one night.
Following the incursion, violent confrontations broke out, during which the occupation troops fired live rounds and tear gas at local residents.
Prior to this, Israeli forces had entered the town of Surif, north of Hebron, before withdrawing.
In related developments, a Palestinian youth was shot by Israeli occupation forces during their raid in the city of Tubas, located in the northern West Bank.
Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that armed confrontations occurred between resistance fighters and invading forces, including Palestinian youths hurling locally-made explosive devices at soldiers and military vehicles.
Occupation forces, accompanied by a bulldozer, had stormed the city, spreading out across several neighborhoods and raiding houses under the pretext of searching for wanted individuals.
In a separate incident, five Palestinians were shot by occupation troops during their assault on several districts in the city of Ramallah.
Clashes ensued between scores of Palestinians and the occupation forces, which fired live ammunition and tear gas in the neighborhood of Ain Misbah.
The occupation forces stationed themselves near the Ramallah recreational complex and adjacent to the Open University of Jerusalem in the district, conducting search and sweep operations before retreating.
Raids and Arrests
Al Jazeera's correspondent noted that significant forces from the Israeli army stormed the city of Qalqilya, in the northern West Bank, surrounding the Kfar Saba neighborhood in the west and deploying sniper units.
Meanwhile, a drone flew overhead, and patrols carried through several neighborhoods. Homes were raided, and a number of young Palestinians were detained.
Additionally, Israeli forces on foot invaded the town of Tel, located southwest of Nablus.
During confrontations between Palestinian youths and occupying soldiers in the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, three young men were shot by Israeli forces after the funeral of martyr Mahmoud Zaal, who was killed on Wednesday during clashes in the village.
Since October 7, more than 300 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli soldiers' gunfire.
The occupation conducts daily campaigns of killings, arrests, and demolitions across various West Bank cities, in parallel with its ongoing aggression on Gaza, which has so far resulted in the martyrdom of 20,000 Palestinians, predominantly comprised of women and children.
