Samsung’s first conference of the year 2024, dubbed “Galaxy Unpacked,” dedicated to the Galaxy S24 series and related technologies, has come to a close.
Phones With Live Translation
Samsung showcased the live call translation feature, the first of the artificial intelligence (AI) features available on the Galaxy S24, which currently supports 13 languages and plans to add more in the future. The Galaxy S24 series will enable seamless communication in any language, across applications, calls, and everywhere, even through Samsung’s keyboard.
Google’s Artificial Intelligence
The Galaxy S24 devices are powered by Google’s Gemini AI technology, which accomplishes a variety of tasks to save time and effort for users. For example, Gemini can create “stickers” from existing photos without the need for another app, organize voice and text notes from a business meeting into bullet points, write messages in various forms, and send work notes to a team.
Statements during the conference suggest that Samsung’s partnership with Google continues to innovate superior products for Samsung phone users, as per the intervention of the head of the Android system during the conference.
The Google Android system official discussed the incorporation of AI in search operations to detect fake or AI-altered images, providing the date of their first appearance in the search engine.
“Search Circle” The Most Exciting Feature
The South Korean company introduced the new “Search Circle” feature in the Galaxy S24, an AI-powered quick and easy search method that allows users to draw a circle on any element in a photo, prompting the AI-supported system to search for it immediately. Google states that the “Search Circle” feature will be exclusive to Android devices. Samsung assures that AI data processing on the devices will be secure and encrypted both on the device and online with “End-To-End” protocol.
Smart Cameras
Samsung has implemented AI capabilities in all features of the Galaxy S24 series, including cameras that analyze every part of the images they capture. The company says its Galaxy S24 phone cameras are fully compatible with Instagram and Snapchat, marking the first device to support HDR quality for photos and videos on Instagram. A feature using AI to change the location of items in photos is also showcased.
Other Technologies and Features
Samsung also announced compatibility of the “Quick Share” feature with all Android phones. The company says that the device’s processor, graphics processor, and cooling chamber are the largest in the history of Galaxy devices, making the new Galaxy phones the best gaming devices yet, according to them.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a special new feature for its display, using a new type of protection called Gorilla Glass Armor Plus. Batteries in the new devices have received upgrades to lengthen their lifespans.
Samsung also presented its “Samsung Health” program, which is said to change our view towards health applications by monitoring the top three human health activities: sleep, physical activity, and heart rate.
Pricing for Samsung’s New Phones
Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S24 series will be available officially starting January 18. The pricing will be as follows:
- The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will start at $1,299.
- The Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus will start at $999 for the base model.
- The Samsung Galaxy S24 standard phones will start at $799.
